Rice University’s “Ascend Together” campaign rallied student-athletes, fans, and alumni around a defining new chapter in Owls athletics: the move to the American Conference. Rally Department brought the vision to life through a powerful campaign video, billboards, and murals, creating a unified call to action that extended from campus into the greater Houston community. By uniting academia and athletics under one rallying cry, the campaign inspired the Rice community to celebrate this milestone together and propel the Owls toward new heights.
The video, which Rally Department wrote, produced, directed, and edited, served as Rice’s television spot, airing on national broadcasts and in-stadium jumbotrons for over two years. It earned a Lone Star Emmy nomination in the Sports Branded Content category.
The Rally Department-designed mural was installed outside the student entrance of Tudor Fieldhouse, Rice’s multi-purpose arena, while campaign billboards were placed at major intersections across Houston.
